Any tips and pointers for this time of year? Live here in Conroe and fished it quite a bit a couple years ago and then took a temporary hiatus for a bit. Now getting back after it and have had a couple trips of being skunked. I’m originally from Louisiana where we fish nothing but trees and stumps and lots of shallow water with Texas rigged senkos and beavers.

Not looking for GPS coordinates or secret spots. Just some pointers, tips and tricks.

You can always catch them fishing docks, especially docks close to deep water. Year round.

A bunch of fish up shallow spawning right now. The bulkheads with a little deeper water would be where I target.

Throw jigs against bulkhead. Shampoo, rinse, repeat.

What about north of 1097, peach creek, stubble field, etc? Any luck up there? I launch mainly on the north side most of the time.
