The run has started. I got 6 this morning and all but one are female. Saw people had good results using minnow. Water is no longer muddy, but bank still wet and slippery.

With the "Shelter in place" order, the run has ended. Stay safe!

Sucks now but just imagine how many more fish there is going to be next year with this huge spawn having not gotten beat up by everybody in all the lakes and creeks

You are right, not over. There are more fishermen than fish at Rowlett.

Rain rain go away! Trip got cut short this morning, downpour for about 30 min just long enough to ruin a trip! How many days of sun does it take to dry up the banks decently? 2-3 days?

Rowlett run will taper out quickly, most fish are only 9-11” anyway. Most fish will divert to the lavon dam rather than going up rowlett. Won’t get the typical early to mid April peak of the run like we usually do.

As long as Lavon continues to release water at >5000 cfs, no fish will come to Rowlett. That is what happened a few years ago.

My guess is something like 90% of the fish and the majority of bigger fish will go up to east fork . The fish in rowlett right now are almost all smaller males which isn’t normal because it’s about the time it should just be getting good.

Any new reports? I believe things should be dryer out there. Will report back if I decide to go this week. Some more rain is coming our way. I need to make it happen soon. The run is almost over.....I think.
