Javelinman, from what I've heard the generic lower will not last long on a Bullet type setup. I saw a gen 1 TM for sale a couple of days ago. If I can figure out where, I will send you a pm

You need a torquemaster, especially on a Bullet. End of story. You’ll pay 1500-3000 for a nice used one.

I believe the verado lower unit fits that and might be able to find one of those also. They have, or have had in the past, parts to rebuild and replace prop-shafts on the Verado lower unit unlike the Torquemaster.
