I don't need a stimulus bump but if I get anything it gets signed right back over to them...and yes i am glad the filing deadline has been pushed back to July 15th.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

I figured out how to effectively get my piece of the stimulus - I'm just cutting salaries equal to the amount of stimulus they get (because I am still paying them 100%).

For those of you that don't think SS recipients should get a stimulus check bear in mind that we didn't get a 2% reduction in payroll tax for 2 years that workers received IF they paid into SS or FICA in the last recession. The ones still working received a great deal of the stimulus and the rest didn't get a dime. This prevented the self employed from getting any help, which has been included in this stimulus. That form of tax reduction benefited many individuals with no need or intention of spending it to improve the economy.
We have also seen interest on our savings go from 6% to 1% for way too many years in order to prop up the stock market, which is 84% owned by the top 10%, and to provide cheap credit for borrowers and encourage frivolous purchases and allowing Companies to take on cheap debt to replace the cash they needed to buy back stock and pay higher dividends. All on the backs of individuals that had saved to help finance their retirement.
The loss of Sales Taxes to cities, counties and State governments will be felt for several years after this is all over and taxes may go up to keep some entities from going bankrupt. In Texas it's Sales Tax, Real Tax and lotto.
I don't think people who are still getting paid should get a check but we don't have the time, system or personnel to fine tune the distribution and get them out in a timely fashion to combat the downturn in the economy. By limiting the income and giving it to people that have lost their income, or have seen it reduced, makes more sense than giving it to everyone, even if some get it that are still getting paid.

The way things going. Even those of us who are still able to work may have that taken from us also. So what happens if say they vote it in tomorrow. Come a week from tomorrow, a majority of the remaining work force is forced out of work. Kentucky is shutting down all non life essential businesses tonight at 8. I'm sure other states will follow. So basically by your plan. Screw all the people fortunate enough to hold on to their jobs 1-2 weeks longer. They won't need it. Here's your reward for keeping America running- nothing.

You can't even get a straight answer on who gets what amounts? I see several different responses to the question of how much for who and what qualifies.
