Chevron just delayed $4,000,000,000 worth of capex work scheduled for 2020.

they will. they have billions. They've survived low oil prices before, and folks will still need gas, and the world oil.

I believe they were declared essential. All the truck delivering good to the grocery stores have to run on something they make.

They will survive. Some will do better than others. Some smaller companies will not do as good because the are not deversified as others. The big boys, Exxon, Shell etc will bleed, but will recover.

I doubt it will be as bad as the early 80's, but thats just my guess. I worked for the old Kerr McGee Refining Div. back in the 80's and it was rough but way better than the local Oil Patch guys, they had it rough. It took many years for oil patch to come back. The world moves much faster now days or seem too. I predict things will come back quicker, but that just my gut. With that said, I think some jobs will be lost, thats where the pain will be but should come back.

Thanks, Billy

Sure they will. They are essential business, and are operational atleast to some extent.

Most shale drilling will cease for now. With the decline rate of the shale production it will help out some.

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Boom and Bust is the nature of the business and always will be. The drillers and oilfield services will suffer more than the refineries and E&P companies. Most refinery workers are union workers and have guaranteed contracts, it's always possible a couple could belly up but not really probable.

The big ones will eat the struggling little ones. Same as always.

All true, but with an * on the E&P companies. Almost all are very heavily weighted in the shale plays right now. Companies that have a portfolio of conventional production and gas wells will limp by okay. But the 100% shale players are in very serious trouble.
