Yes, I believe if we were not doing what we are doing right now it would be 20-30 times worse than the normal flu. Actually probably much worse than that because the hospitals would be swamped and there would be a multiplier put on those numbers as a result. I believe you'll see this happen in the next week or two in NY.

Every country in the world has reacted to this in basically the same way. Including communist dictatorships which are known to have very little regard for their people. There's a reason for that.

A year from now the death toll may be less than flu, but only because of these social distancing mandates.

New York City has roughly 1,000 ICU beds. As of yesterday morning 620 of them were occupied with COVID-19 patients. I don't know for sure, but I would assume some of those 1,000 beds had non COVID-19 patients in them to begin with. The current ICU rate of this virus in NYC is 4.8%-5.0%. Since yesterday morning NY has 7,500 new cases. Quick math.... Their beds will be at 100% capacity very soon. At that point they either steal ICU beds from other departments (like pediatrics), start shipping people out, or they start sacrificing the olds for yutes like Italy.
