Crazy world we live in right now. I haven’t slowed down though. The rain obviously made things quite difficult, but I am still catching some crappie. The water levels have stabilized and we caught caught some shallow crappie today. The weather this week should move a ton more fish up as well. All fish are still being caught on jigs. Moving forward, I’m a firm believer that this virus is going to be tough on everyone. People go to work together with each other. I’m going to drop my half day prices to $250 for 1 or 2 people. I’m also opening back up my working mans evening trips as well. They will be $125 for 1 or 2 people. I am currently putting in at Jordan Park in pilot point. Evening trips can start anywhere from 4-6. It’s up to your schedule. If you’d like to go after some crappie, give me a shout or a text and we can make it happen.

Congrats on the good trips. At least we can still go fishing. Dallas county can't even do that. Thanks for the report. Lake looks to be close to 5 feet high today. A week of good weather should make a lot of difference.

Good report Cody, hope we are done w rain for a few days, be calling you. Hi all my name is Robert. I'm new to fishing when it comes to open water (grew up a pond hopping bank fisherman). I'd love to learn some stuff from you if you'd be willing to teach me. Cody, I'm also curious to know what a half day trip and the "working man's trip" entails. I'd love to learn in person as well (hopefully I can get some stuff to translate to kayak fishing). The only problem is that I'm very limited on spots I can try based on where I put in because it's all paddle power lol I can't be cruising the lake all over in search of biting fish. Just looking for some tips to help make an educated guess at where to look. I recently moved about 20 mins from Ray Roberts. I bought a kayak a year and a half ago and it's really opened up my eyes to other species besides bass. I've got the crappie and catfish bug bad lol I normally put in at buck Creek with moderate success fishing the standing timber to the west, but it's closed due to flooding. I tried putting in at Jordan park the other day and paddled the creek (2 coves north of the ramp), checked the timber, but not even a nibble. I'm completely lost on where to find fish in general. I use jigs because I'm fishing from a kayak and it's just easier to transport and use vs minnows. I'm not looking for any honey holes or anything really close to that, moreso just a starting point/techniques for the crappie in Ray Roberts. I'm pretty much a one trick pony when it comes to finding them at Buck creek and it gets extremely frustrating getting skunked after paddling all day time after time. TIA for any help/advice!
