I like to fish a weightless fluke most of the time... Is there a better alternative to the zoom super fluke that would be more durable and have more glide to its fall?

Hard to beat a watermelon red zoom super fluke for $3 a bag. Dip the tail in chartreuse. I haven't found anything to beat them.

The Z-man finesse fluke ( not exactly the name) are really durable and flexible and I like them. They have a bigger swim bait that probably is just as good if the size of the finesse bait is too small for you

Yamamoto makes one called D Shad that I like to throw in addition to the Super Fluke

The Mpack shad is a good fluke style bait with way different action. I've never fished it weightless, but can't see why it wouldn't work. I just don't have the patience to fish weightless soft baits very often. Definitely has more action than a fluke. I use it a ton on carolina rigs. The one disadvantage to the Mpack shad is its not quite as weedless, but it's a bait I keep in my box all the time. Especially from shad spawn time through the summer.

Called the RT Slug (in their salt water line) this bait is super durable! Has a nice fall too with the spade type tail. Chicken on a chain is watermelon red with the tail already chartreuse. Mangrove red and green mosquito are ones I use as well.

I have better luck with the 5" Yamamoto Senko than I do the Fluke.

Yes sir, Senko has been a better producer for me as well, sometimes I use a skinny dipper it works pretty good.

5" Yamamoto with an 1/8 oz gamakatsu EWG weighted hook is deadly! That same hook would be good for a fluke as well. It creates a nice "shimmy" on the way down, but at a slow fall rate. I like the spring that holds the bait on as well.

Still one of my favorites but I prefer the baby bass colored...

Fished last summer up in Minnesota on Milles Lacs with Jay Brainard and he turned me on to the Strike King ZZZ super elastic flukes. I think the have better action and they last for ever, as in you can catch 10 or more fish before they tear up. Only problem is cant find them in watermelon.

Can the tails be dipped in dye?

Lake Fork Tackle makes a good fluke too, it has a lot more meat on it.
