I saw three fly fisherman.. Two below Henrietta hole in the nice pool below the step, and another a half mile down. Nice to see a fly rod.. My son wants to fly fish, taught him to cast with yarn.. I need a lighter setup to get him going. Thanks for sharing..

Fiberglass is fun, not so fragile, and you have solid options in new and vintage that will handle lines big enough to throw what you need while still bending for an 11-inch fish.

Get him going, man.

Going crazy sitting around the house. What do y'all think, any point in taking the yak to DC today?

Tell everyone you’re working on your social-distancing like the CDC recommends. roflmao
Though the river is much higher after the weekend rain.

If you like white water rafting. Elizabeth creek was about 6 feet from touching the bottom of 114 bridge when i was driving to work this morning.

This can’t be a serious question. Creek is only 10 ft high. I say go for it lol

Yep monday it was flowing fast at trophy club park boatramp, was surprised that we had that much rain overnight.. Me and mason went for crappie, and ended up catching some really nice catfish with shad on 8 lb line. Had several try to spool the reel, so had to break off. Tuesday it slowed down and not much current at the mouth of the lake, not one bite.. Tuesday night we had @ 1.25" rain in our area but I think we had more up-stream. Wed the creek was another 4-5 feet higher. While catching shad at TC boat ramp we caught prob 12 keeper size sandbass in the cast net. Yes they were released.. Just to the right of the ramp in the grass there is plenty of shad.. Upgraded tackle for heavier fish, went to the mouth of the lake and caught 3 nice cats.. Son caught a fish which could be his PB in the catfish class. heavy action spinning rod with 30lb braided.. Thinking its @ 40ish.. All three released, freezer is full.. Caught these in @ 2 hours, from 3-5pm yesterday 3-18-20 in the canoe. Have video of the fight with the big cat, will post when I have it rendered. You can launch a boat from the road right now, and will be under water soon.. As long as there is current and you have shad hold on... Only fishing about 20 ft past the brushline when lake is at normal level.. There is sand bass at the TC ramp hiding out in the calm water at the edges..

Short Version: Short & sweet.. Short Version Link

This is the long version video from Wed.. Left all the material in so just fast forward thru the video to 6:24 for the big cat clip. It was fun to watch, when I was reeling in my line it looped around his line. I cut my line off so it wouldn't mess with him landing the fish.. I was speechless afterward, and was in complete peace seeing him catch such a nice fish.. Hope you enjoy.. Video is on Vimeo no password at the moment.. VIMEO Link

He is my right hand for sure..
