Probably scattered. I’d look in the 6-18’ range.

Well I didn’t find them today in normal spawning areas like I thought I would like a lot of the lakes North of me are finding them. So I decided to get in a channel scan for brush piles and I managed to find them mostly on points of coves where they typically go to spawn shallow. All fish caught in 8 to 12 foot of brush and some nice fat pigs too. The females was full of nice firm eggs as well. Get out there scan you some shallow piles and fish them.

Shallow. Fish are spawning in areas. this is very true, males and females! Not on some lakes here in Texas and not with this cold front as of this morning sir. Like I stated 👆🏻Last night basically stick and move. If you don’t find them shallow in a few known creeks, docks or where they normally spawn in shallow areas. I would start North then pull out and find a lay over or brush piles in 6 to 12 feet preferably in a channel on the edge of a channel or on points of coves creeks etc. They are stacked and full of eggs. Thanks They are moving shallow. But on my lake they are not committed shallow yet. The spawn seems to be a little late this year. I suspect April activity will light it up. But for now it's a little hit and miss for me.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
