Not sure if this belongs, but I'm having issues. I have a Lee pot and have been trying to pour my own bladed jig heads. I cannot get the lead to fill the entire cavity before cooling. I have the temp gauge cranked to the max and it fills all the way up to the trailer keeper. I cannot figure this out!

Make sure your mold is hot and also warm the hooks.Oh and be sure to smoke the mold first.

Can you elaborate? I'm not familiar with smoking a mold. Thanks.

Take a lighter and hold it under the cavity and let the black carbon cover it real good. And also get the mold good and hot.

Could be dirty lead.
Could be clogged spout
Wrong hook size or shape
How fast does the lead come out of the pot?
It should be a strong steady stream.

Which mold is it?
For vibrating jigs, I cut the hook keeper off the jig. Better motion

Strong flow, lead looks clean when coming out of the spout, and its an ez mold arky style.

All my molds are do it, try holding the mold at different angles when you fill it.
To smoke the mold, just hold a lighter on it till it turns black. Some of my molds are smoked, I dont notice much difference though.
Got a pic of the bad jigs
