I think the palomar was the first knot I learned to tie, it has never failed so i just stuck with it. It was the first fishing knot I learned. My Dad taught me the Palomar after I learned how to tie my shoes. Much later I learned a strong loop knot for topwaters but that's it.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

Well Scott is wrong. I use fluorocarbon line and the palomar knot without any issues, just like many others have said. Maybe he is tying it wrong and it is breaking on him.
I use the Palomar, Pitzen, Uni, and the Alberto depending on what I am going to tie on.

Y'all must be way too strong for your line / knots. I've had very few breakoffs and all I tie is palomar knots.
