Took my boat in for annual service and compression test came back off by 30-40 units on my lower two cylinders. 2013 Optimax 150 with only 60 hours. Looking for advise on best economical approach or person to work on it. The motor runs great now on the water. Im thinking about running it until it gives out.

The Engine can still be of use to diagnose why 2 of the cylinders are low on compression so that if you put on a new power head or go for a rebuild you won't burn the same 2 pistons later on . Such as what if the 2 low compression cylinders are not getting enough fuel ? or coolant flow ? Or maybe you already know what happened . If you look in the cylinders with a bore scope you can look for excessive scoring or gouges in the cylinder wall or piston surface to help make sure its not going to self destruct and leave you stranded at the worst time possible .
