Agree 100% it gets through. If we lock down though we may be able to hold it at a low infection rate long enough to get a vaccine. I don’t know what the best path forward is. As stated it’s a matter of perspective. It's already through and out in the population. Right now is the slow buildup. Locking down is shutting the barn door after the horses have gotten out. Because it has such a long incubation period.. you're still infectious but not feeling symptoms.. you're spreading it far and wide long before you yourself feel ill.

Seasonal Flu 5 million cases worldwide with 650,000 deaths, Corona virus 111,753 cases worldwide with 3,888 deaths. Is it overblown hell yeah it is.

I think people are getting worked up into a froth over it and being stupid about their actual risks and how to minimize them. It is deadly serious, but humans are stupid, panicky animals and refusing to use their brains.
I thinks it’s going to get worse than we are giving it credit for. Folks are likely going to get a lesson in exponential growth soon. We either try and buy ourselves time to create a vaccine by getting draconian with regional quarantines or we just let this thing roll. If we lock everything down it’ll be a massive blow to the economy. If we let it roll it’ll kill a bunch of olds. Neither scenario is great. Your preference probably related to your age and the age of your loved ones. Oh, I don't deny that you're right. But I also think that the way we're attempting to mitigate - especially the damn hoarding nonsense - is getting out of hand. We're going to have a hard and fast lesson on what it means to have no immunity. Where it is going to be deadly serious is the many fragile people we are keeping alive, especially assisted living centers. Our elders are going to get hit especially hard with this, and eventually it will get through. There's only so many vectors we can stop for so long. So even if we lock down, it WILL get through. Agree 100% it gets through. If we lock down though we may be able to hold it at a low infection rate long enough to get a vaccine. I don’t know what the best path forward is. As stated it’s a matter of perspective. My mother had to be moved to a "memory care" facility after falling and breaking her hip in January. I worry about what could happen to her and all the good people taking care of her. Thankfully she doesn't have to worry about it because if I told her what was happening across the world today she'd forget before I left.

my theory, for what it is worth.
china had a lab accident or purposely let this stuff out into the population, be it from animals that were removed from the lab in wuhan then eaten or by simply infecting someone or even airborne dispatched it.
I seriously doubt that they have told us half the truth of how many are infected and we will never know for a fact exactly how it got started due to the lying communist party that rules. they locked up the dr. that first reported it then he died but of what?
think about this, this stuff has what a 2 week incubation period and you are contagious for the 2 weeks? talk about a perfect bioweapon, everyone is infected before they realize it and have passed it on to others as well.
I just think there is way too much coincidence that there is a military biolab in wuhan where this all started.
and there ya have it, my conspiracy theory for the day.

Just wash your dam hands 25 times a day and don't touch your face for the rest of your life. Heck I scratch my [censored] then pick my nose and rarely get sick. I have not had the flu in 30 years. I guess I am going to have to quit picking my nose. To me the worst thing about this virus is how contagious it is.

China has been able to essentially stop it. I think we lack the will to do what they did so we are likely to find out for ourselves just how bad this thing is.

But your flu numbers are completely wrong. Flu doesn't kill 13% of people who are infected with it. Not even close. More like 2% or less.
