Buy some 91% IPA (IsoPropylAlchohol) and make your own. Mix with some aloe vera hand lotion. Washing your hands with soap is mo bettah.

No.
If anything the response has been to downplay the risk.

Even the isopropyl rubbing alcohol is getting hard to locate.

For what it's worth, we rode out the other day to try to find some hand sanitizer. All the usual places (CVS, Wal Mart, etc.) were sold out, but we found a ton of it at Autozone.

I think people are getting worked up into a froth over it and being stupid about their actual risks and how to minimize them. It is deadly serious, but humans are stupid, panicky animals and refusing to use their brains.

AutoZone is only 1 of the 10 stocks in the S&P 500 that are currently higher today. Per MarketWatch.

They probably took a bump because of my panic-buy of all that hand sanitizer. grin

I thinks it’s going to get worse than we are giving it credit for. Folks are likely going to get a lesson in exponential growth soon. We either try and buy ourselves time to create a vaccine by getting draconian with regional quarantines or we just let this thing roll. If we lock everything down it’ll be a massive blow to the economy. If we let it roll it’ll kill a bunch of olds. Neither scenario is great. Your preference probably related to your age and the age of your loved ones.

I would certainly hope so.

Oh, I don't deny that you're right. But I also think that the way we're attempting to mitigate - especially the damn hoarding nonsense - is getting out of hand. We're going to have a hard and fast lesson on what it means to have no immunity.

Where it is going to be deadly serious is the many fragile people we are keeping alive, especially assisted living centers. Our elders are going to get hit especially hard with this, and eventually it will get through. There's only so many vectors we can stop for so long. So even if we lock down, it WILL get through.

Agree 100% it gets through. If we lock down though we may be able to hold it at a low infection rate long enough to get a vaccine. I don’t know what the best path forward is. As stated it’s a matter of perspective.
