The day was meant to be I guess! Clays Sat trip cancelled Monday and mine did the same on Thursday so we decided to fish the Crappie USA tourney on Fork Sat! I haven’t been there since the beginning of Nov and Clay had only been there once this winter but we had an idea where we could find them this time of the year and we were right! We fished timber 18-24’ primarily with bluegrass and orange and chart plastics on 1/4oz limits tackle jig heads. Even stuck a couple on a 4” black and chart thump boss from constant pursuit outfitters! It was windy to start so Clay ran the boat while I fished. First fish of the day was our big fish that went 2.81 and I followed it up with a 2.40. Caught several 2 pounders yesterday. 13 I believe with another 2.70 and 2.40 fish to boot. Ended up with 17.08 and first place and a tie for big fish!! We caught a lot of fish yesterday. If your wanting to head to Fork holler. I had some spring break plans change and might have a day or 2 left in March. Think me and little man gonna load up and head somewhere after a 3 pounder. He said he’s been fishing since he was 2 and still hasn’t caught a 3 pounder! 4th grade struggles are real!!! roflmao

wow, great day

It was meant to be I guess! Clay was 45 minutes late getting to my house. Heck I was backing him down the ramp at 634! Everybody else was fishing and we weren’t even in the water! First fish was the 2.81 and the next was a 2.40! That took the edge off!! Got some still cleaned up on the boat and respooled some rods! Might tie up some jigs tomorrow and work and dream of fishing Fork!!

Congrats Slew - heck of a stringer and shows how hard you have been working even if not at Fork.

Great job. That's an impressive seven fish anywhere. I was going to say crappie fishermen will be putting Fork on their list of lakes to fish, and skip Grenada, but I just read that a man and woman team fishing the Magnolia Crappie Club there weighed in a 21.18 stringer.

Thanks! I know how we could try! Fork is fishing great right now but I would love to book a couple days in a row at Millwood in Arkansas but they would have to be full day trips since I would need a room and an OOS guide license. If I could book a couple days in a row I would go over there. I love Pines and Fork but I still think Millwood is better than either of them for big crappie! Last year at the CAT tourney there 3 people (me included) had 3 pounders and this year the Arkansas Crappie Masters club tourney had 2 weighted in. Both clubs only had 15 or 20 teams fish. I would move to hit that lake again with what I've learned from Livescope in the last year!

Nice job bud.

We ended up with 28 in Williams Creek in the shallows. Tried to get to your advise areas, but T Top kept us out..

I’m pouty we didn’t go there this year. Then to make matters worse my backup pan of Millwood isn’t working out either! Still got Fork though!! fish
