I like to watch the show but my Lord that Dave Mercer needs to go. Someone with BASS needs to listen to him and send him down the road.

Not my favorite. Years ago, he called me “Beast from the East”, trying to play on my last name. I was confused and said I was from Texas in response. Then we had a silent stare ....  He’s goofy as all get out, but he has to talk up the process and keep the crowd entertained.

Have you heard some of the guys he is interviewing? Great fishermen, but he has to work really hard to get them to open up. You need to be a little goofy to keep it going.

You do realize he is trying to talk to fisherman about FISHING and make it entertaining. They way you grouchy old men sound I guess they need to walk on stage throw the fish on the scale then walk off with no words exchanged. This isn’t football it really isn’t that exciting so if you can do what he does but better then go take his job.

I think he does fine. All good MC's have a mannerism or two that get annoying after a while but someone that can keep a fishing tournament weigh-in entertaining and flowing like he can is a rare talent.
