Two weeks ago water was 54 - 56. Probably cooler now. Not a lot of bites but a few on the points. Sit out as far as you can and throw into about 4' water. Water is real clear and the hydrilla covers the bottom everywhere. Cattails are thick around the edges but no fish in them when I was there. A million ducks on the pond so be careful if you go out before daylight.

The fishing should pick up depending on the water temps and the moon cycle. Since not a hot water lake it is fishing like any other Texas lake except it still has lots of grass and reeds. Fairfield is about the same water temp as RC.

Fished Fairfield the last two days. Friday we managed to catch six fish 5 came in 8 ft of water and were in the 3-5 pound range we did catch a 8lber in 17 ft. Saturday we found all of the fish shallow 3 ft or less. Found a ton onthe beds in 2 feet or less. We caught 6 over 18 inches none over 6 pounds and the rest were 16- 17 inches, orange tubes worked well for bedding bass. Watermelon red dyed tail against the reeds early, before he wind picked up was getting us bit well. Saturday we caught 22 of them 3 were under 15.5. We did catch one on top water.
