Went out yesterday and tried mid depth with jigs and slip corks in shallows and didn't catch nothing. Water temp ranged from 53 to 59. I don't have Livescope but folks have been catching fish for years without it. Any tips on how to locate them?.....besides going with a guide. Thx

I'm sure there are some locations on Fork you might find them shallow, but all of our fish yesterday were in 20-22 feet and suspended 14-16 feet. Trees along creek.
Today is a big Crappie Tournament.
I actually have to work today and yesterday we were there to Scout the lake for family coming in this next week.
We found none on corks and bobbers. I'm sure there were some caught that way just not by us.
Another week it could be an entirely different story.
Hang in there.
I spoke to others there for the Crappie Tournament and it was a tough day with the wind.

Go under the bridge in the very back of little caney. Stay in the creek and dunk some minnows, bunch of blacks back there. Make sure and say hi to the resident gators, 2 big ones were out and about yesterday.

Just back. Saw tourney guys fishing around 12’ in trees. Everybody had the live scope etc. Saw a few pretty nice fish caught. Was humbled by the sharp rigs tricked out for crappie lol. I managed 6 with the biggest 1.7. Casting 1/8 ounce under spin and reeling back very slow. Could not get bit on my jigging poles and without livescope and spot lock I just tied of from tree to tree fan casting. Wind was a bit stout. Oh yea caught a few sandies in there as well. Probably gonna try go way up the East arm tomorrow morning before the winds get to bad.

Yeah KBW, everybody I saw fishing Friday was staring down at their Livescope. It would be a nice feature for big fish but I bet some of them older fellas have sore necks at the end of the day. Not bashing since I didn't catch.....just saying.
