Thx for the Instant messages. Responded to all. Will keep you updated, rain is going to mix it up a bit.. walkers, beware poison ivy is heavy.. poison oak not so bad. If you stay on trail you should be ok, I walked edge of west from 377 almost to trophy club launch and was work. Had to cross many streams over waist deep. Neutra (river rats) are thick as mosquitos so be careful down by trophy club if you are on the bank. Up stream is just work fighting the brush and mud. Remember this is federal land so no concealed carry, and I would expect a visit by game warden.. They are spot checking this YR..

There was guy that use to post these type of threads all the time and it really rubbed some people the wrong way. All the sudden he quit posting the reports and videos. Rumor has it someone vandalized his truck at a local fishing spot.

My buddy is heading back down creek now. Water looks like chocolate milk, rose a lil bit & got only 4. He said the distance he’d went Sunday he would have had a limit. Looks like the rain screwed them up.....

The complaints posted on here have a sense of legitimacy. I posted several years ago about a red hot creek not only loaded with 2 lb plus sandies, but about as scenic as it gets in north texas. No bank trash, pristine water, and lord the fish! Well almost instantly, I started getting pm's from land owners, why? Trash, torn down fences, cattle gates left open, Trash, cars and trucks driving through land AND leaving gates open, you get the picture. End Result? Reinforced gates with chains and padlocks, Giant POSTED NO TRESPASSING signs, stepped up patrols by county sheriffs and game wardens. It got swarmed! End result is that to get to the prime sandie spawn pools, about only way to get there is to go upstream by boat, beach it at the rapids, and either wade up or do your best impression of a mountain goat along the shoreline. Damn shame. The few who knew about it could easily get there by parking on side of road, and walking through the pastures etc. The land owners are not ogres. Those folks for the most part respected the land owners' property and the beauty of the setting. Once i thought i was doing fellow fishermen a favor, the ne'er do wells took full advantage,

So sad!

Got a report that was good. They also got their butts kicked with jigs, but after changing to a tiny trap and bumping the rocks they did really good. No big females, and I havn't seen any big ones up there, will be a month I think. Water stained but they are there, just down a bit... No luck way up. We always bring a 5 gallon bucket of trash out regardless of the time of year in the creek.. Dern floods really bring down some massive amounts of trash, and the log jam at the bend is massive.. Water came up about 8 inches so it should get better IMO.. Will be out there next few days..

Fishing is good. Son had a great time and caught his first Crappie. Just finished chopping scallions for the fish. Three limits of sandbass plus some good Crappie. Stayed in the same area as before, fish are up and below the area I described last week. Several boats limited out very quickly upward. Water looks good and probably 8-10 inches higher than last week.. note: one monster female and many smaller females caught/released.
Fish are stacked next to any fallen tree we fished.. Crappie were hugging the edges of slow moving water..

Prosie, thanks for the update. Is there anywhere to put in a kayak? I have heard you can at Trophy Club, but thought that may be too long of a paddle to get to the fish. Any input on that?
