Going to be in the area this week for work and thinking of dragging my boat with me. The lake looks overwhelming from a map to say the least, any insight on what area of the lake to start at, boat ramp to use, things to focus on? Google maps looks like trees and pads everywhere haha
Is the lake fishing good or am I wasting my time?
Saw it was a little high, not sure if that’s good or bad for out there...
Thanks!

It is a great and beautiful lake. I caught my PB there 10.68 now about 10 years ago. It is worth dragging your boat just to see it. Get a map, it is very easy to get turned around. Make sure you also go up the river. Very different from the main lake. I can't help you much on where to fish or what to use. I have not been there in over a year. A little up is good for Caddo. Stay in the boat lanes. If you get out to fish, idle only. Lots of stumps just under the surface.

Yes it’s high and muddy still but we also call this water level “normal pool”. Seems they rate our lake low for some reason. Bites are really hit or miss. U just have cover a TON of water right now. Flipping seems be the key also. With the rain coming Wednesday I’m sure it’s gonna change a little

Not sure what day you can fish but rain is a possibility tomorrow and Wednesday. If I was coming for the first time look up tuckers fishing camp. Launch there and idle out the canal then drop the trolling motor. Throw dark colored baits creatures and senkos. The fish haven’t pulled up yet but getting better every warm day. There aren’t any pads but plenty of grass and cypress trees so cover as much water as you can. The water level is better at this level but it’s pretty murky right now temp should be 52-55.

Get a lake map. All of the boat lanes are marked with short telephone poles with letters/number signs on them. These poles are on the lake map. If you like to pitch and flip, this is your place. Frogs work well. Go slow!

Thanks Andy! I found Tucker’s on google maps, I’ll check that out! Looks like a good general area to start and get my bearings. I’d probably only be fishing Friday at this point with work, hopefully the rain doesn’t mess things up too bad.

I have a good friend that fishes Caddo a lot. Two words..... Government Ditch. Find it on the map, and you’ve found the fish.

JR You may be able to get away with fishing Gov't Ditch this time of year. Normally it is the drag strip of the lake.

Don’t jack with the river stuff at all. Those fish are hitting the banks as we speak. Andy and I fish Caddo more then what most people know. We stay on them pretty good. First wave probably is done way bite has been
