So im fishing a tournament where you can fish any body of water. Then you take your 6 fish limit to the weigh in at 5pm which is about 45 minutes away from the closest lake. After weigh in there is rewards, eating, drinking, raffle etc. so this could be like 12+ hours of fish in livewells plus driving bumpy roads with them in the wells. My concern is a lot of dead fish? Is that a valid concern or am I over thinking it?

They do that in my area as well with a 5 fish limit. The weigh in turns into a fish fry.

What are y'all gonna do with the fish you throw back? You cant take fish out of one body of water and turn them loose in another!

Y'all forget not everyone on here lives in Texas. Lots of places that have more than a 5 fish limit. That means tournaments there can have more than 5 fish limit

He is the one that said they do 6 fish tourneys IN HIS AREA. Now if he is catching catfish, bluegill, crappie, etc, no problem. But if it is BASS, he might be a little over his limit.

I don’t know but the way I read the tpwd is you have to have a drained livewell and boat when you get to the lake your fishing? I have had mine inspected at AMISTAD prior to launch! So I’m wondering how a community lake tourney with an offsite weigh in could possibly result in any fish legally being released?

Still not sure why it’s 6 fish though, hell im hoping we can even catch our limit period 😂
