Not sure if this is the right spot I am new here. I am looking for a small reliable safe boat for my grandson and I. Speed and size isn't a big deal but safety and reliability is important. Maybe a 50HP. Please contact me via PM or chrisjgott@gmail.com or text to 254 913-8578 located in central Texas. Thank you very much!

talk to steve at hydrodynamics jackplates, https://www.hydrodynamics-usa.com/products.html

he is in quitman (lake fork) and sells a couple of brands of aluminum boats, think they are locally made as well.

Depending on your specifics, I just picked up an awesome boat for me and the kids from Facebook Marketplace. Like Craigslist, it is a [censored]-shoot, but if you ask the right questions, you can find some good stuff.

Others covered this a bit, but I recently sold my Phoenix bass boat and bought a 20' center console to take my grandson fishing. I would suggest looking at the lakes you plan on fishing, see what others are using. What type of fishing do you plan to do with him? I went multi-purpose on the center console because I am going to bass fish, but I also can crappie and catfish more, especially with the kiddo. Take a look at the 18' or so center consoles, 70-90 hp, 50 is great if you are fishing very small lakes or staying close to the ramp. Good luck to you.
