A live feed from a bald eagle nest at Big Bear Lake, CA provided by the Friends of Big Bear Valley, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the 15-mile Big Bear Valley. The camera is solar powered and streams live 24/7.

The eagles, Jackie and Shadow, can be observed in their nest atop a Jeffrey pine tree, about 120 feet high off the ground.

On January 8, Jackie laid her first egg of the season.


The U.S. Forest Service made an announcement on Friday, regarding the eggs:

"It’s hard to say this, but the odds of our Big Bear bald eagle nest’s eggs will hatch this year are diminishing each day. We’re on day 44 and day 41 since the eggs were laid. They typically hatch between 35-38 days; even giving them a day or two extra for slow development due to cold temperatures, the window of successful hatching is closing. We haven’t seen a definite pip (crack in the egg from the chick poking a hole in the shell) in either egg. At this point, we'll be very (pleasantly) surprised if either egg hatches.”

Saw 15 bald eagles while kayaking on the Kansas River last Sunday.

last year there was another set of eagles on this nest that were driven off by younger eagles, the intruders carried off the eaglets that were hatched. i hope the best for the cali eagles, that is a cool view

there is a pr. that nests somewhere around here, saw the male again a week ago.

I use to watch live cams when they first became popular/common. There was this one that was placed over a watering hole in Africa. It was cool at first, but then I quickly learned that watching live cams can become extremely boring.
