It is a hot water lake when they are generating. November 9th last year I was there and at noon the water temp was 99 degrees.

Sure but what he's saying is they aren't generating right now. Winter was too warm and power apparently was not needed.

I will be making my first trip to welsh this Sunday so I appreciate all of the information posted here. It’s unfortunate that the plant is not running and it might not fish as good with the colder water. I will be coming from Texarkana and I primarily fish Millwood lake in Arkansas. Everything is muddy, flooded and high 40s to low 50s so the conditions at welsh are at least better than that. Any tips on baits/techniques you guys have recent success with you would recommend?
Thanks

Chris,
Do you know how many feet they have to pump it down for repairs?

No, he said that it is not the same lake it used to be, not hot water at all. It is still a hot water lake when they generate, they just haven't been generating lately. The lake hasn't changed. They either generate and it is hot or they don't and it gets cold, but the lake hasn't changed.

I haven't been there lately but I would say yes, since it has been raining.

My understanding is the watershed isnt great but it relies more on water pumped from paines.

Dont talk about it, it's the best kept secret in bass fishing.
