Really? All the guys I know fishing it are catching an 8+ regularly on trips with a bunch of 4-5's. I welcome guys to come to Rayburn and catch 40 or even 30 fish right now. Just ask the local sticks how it's fishing, especially the ones that always do well in the bfl.

Congrats to him on his fish. Wonderful catch and sounds like a good man who had not control over whether the fish lived or died.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

We were there Monday fun fishing. We caught the heck out of fish up to 4 pounds but no big females. Our best 5 were in about the 15-17 pound range. Fishing and catching was good! Congrats to the angler on a giant! We were fishing in that same area, the water looks great and I think there will be a big move to the bank any time! Males were up doing work getting ready, que up Luther!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I live in Houston so not a local Rayburn guy. Trust me that lake fishes tough on the weekends. Yeah someone always hooks up when you're talking about a few hundred boats on the lake, but the majority of people don't do very well size wise. Bunch of 2# running around. Great future stock. Best time to fish the lake is during the week. Then you might do something.
Sucks that 15# died, but that happens sometimes. Congrats to the angler who caught her. Everyone knows they didn't really reveal where they caught her. They know everyone will be pounding that area. They probably put in at Jackson Hill that's why they said that.
Love the lake

The Louisiana crew will be headed that way any minute with coolers and electric knives..... I love how a few guys on here constantly bash Louisiana fishermen for eating too many big fish on Toledo and Rayburn then complain nobody is catching numbers of big fish, well I guess other than dem Cajuns. There’s a bunch of 2 lbers and some 9 lbers but not much in between, but them darn Cajuns apparently can catch the hell out of those 5-8 lbers. I have seen a [censored] load of 6+ lb carcasses on Ivie, Amistad, P.K. and other Lakes and there wasn’t a single one of them filleted by a Cajun. Give it a rest. Quit crying unless they are breaking the law. The fish aren’t only for tournament fishermen. Many of these people keeping limits of bass only make a single trip a year, meanwhile tournament fishermen kill fish all year long whether you want to admit it or not.

Well to be clear a whole bunch of those falcon fish were in fact filleted by "Dem Cajuns".

Falcon has hundreds of gill nets run 365 days of the year. It still produces. I believe you’re viewpoint is lazy and lacks any sort of factual evidence to support it. Sometimes down periods on lakes are more complex and thankfully the folks in charge take the time to root out the cause. You have a complex toward “Dem Cajuns”. Big O’ has MLF and Jarrett has “Dem Cajuns. I think professional help is available for this.

I'll be fine, but I did witness coolers full of 4-8+ on falcon in 2011-2012. Every time they had Louisiana license plates and they were sure proud of them bass fillets.

Fish is good to eat, not sure what the problem is if folks want to eat a few and catch and keep them by legal means... Not to mention catching fish over and over again educates them making them harder to catch. Tournament pressure to me is far worse on a fishery than any fillet knife could ever be.
See you on the lake and have a great day!
