Gentlemen, hope you guys had a better day today than we did. We had to grind and hustle to keep 25 fish today from 7am to 2pm on Whitney. Fish were mostly roaming with a couple keepers on brush piles and rocks. Dunno where the fish are gonna go on Whitney for spawn but i can tell you this is incentive for me to go scan a lot more water.

We fished the bridge at murvaul tops at timpson and Palestine and had 2 fish all morning. Been here at murvaul fishing since Sunday and we have 18 fish. We leave to head back home Saturday morning. If anyone has anywhere they might be biting decent we sure would appreciate the help haha.

The bite has been really tough on Murvaul lately. I'm going to say the fish are transitioning for spring but that's just my excuse. I've been catching a few just going from brush pile to brush pile and picking up one or two (or none) at each pile. Most fish have come off the bottom in water 15 ft. or deeper. Check the boat lane markers as most have brush piles around them. Good luck!

Yea , the bite at Murvaul has been tough on me as well. When you go on a Saturday and see very few boats crappie fishing , something is up. 2017 was a banner year . Lots of fish were taken that year , and IMO , it hasn't been the same since . I cant help but believe that the population was impacted somewhat on that small lake during that time. May take a few years to get it back.

Crappie will have a poor spawn every 3 or 4 years and I'm wondering if maybe we are seeing the results this year. It does seem like the population is low but when the fish aren't biting I can think up lots of excuses. Maybe things will pick up in a few weeks.

Yeah I agree with everything 7 inches of rain doesn't help for sure this small lake going up and down so bad. Excuses are a plenty. It's weird not going down to the bridge this time of year and having to wait for a spot under there if you're am hour before sunrise. During the week it's been pick what you want pretty much after Dawn.
