Whether you find out in the front of the boat or in front of a crowd a $100,000 is still a $100,000.
Especially when it is your job. Who on here gets their paycheck in front of a audience. The get paid and on to the next tournament

They could at least make the checks smaller. Wallet size would be nice.

I never understood why people would stand around in the heat just waiting for fish to be weighed in. I much prefer the MLF and to see the competition in the last few minutes if it is a close one. To me that feels like you are more involved in the tournament than waiting around to just hear the final weight.

Competition is different when you continually hear updates of others catching fish, i like to see how these guys handle the pressure and make adjustments on the fly. That is more exciting to me than watching an hour long weigh in with really no valuable information given. Catch-weigh-release is also just better for the fish vrs sitting in a livewell all day and going on a boat ride. Now, look at youtube and how that has inevitably had an impact on the fishing industry. By live streaming their event and having real time accurate scoring it has an additional draw. Fishing was the only sport i could think of that didnt have real time accurate scoring before the MLF.

All other sports are live, you know who is winning/losing, etc. The "mystery" moment that can happen at a weigh in wasn't by design, it was due to lack of technology to keep score. Ray Scott was an innovator, he would have been live streaming from day one given the chance. He discussed this concept long before we ever saw it actually happen by MLF or BASS.
First, the fish were small. Then, the guys were just mindlessly beating the bank. Now, they don't have a weigh in. What's next for the anti-MLF crowd?
And Big O....you are a nut! Wow. Watching you struggle to make sense of this and try to explain the nonsense in your brain is the most comical [censored] I've seen on this forum, ever.

Speaking for myself I enjoy watching bass and mlf. They both have good and bad but the guys that get defensive from us speaking our opinion is more the issue. Will there ever be a tour that is going to make everyone happy of course not but there is nothing wrong with “grown” people having a discussion. But tff and bbc are getting to the point people want to move a topic because they don’t agree which is ridiculous.

Definitely some bashing involved in a multitude of these posts and constant bashing of mentioned orgs. Like, we get it Big O hates the MLF, the people that run it and everyone involved with it. We dont need a new post about it every other day. Best to just move those topics as the mods have done a few times already

What gets annoying is someone making up bs or jumping on every thread about them, just to bash them. I like all the trails

There actually isn't an anti-BASS group here.
I think that says a lot about the anti-MLF guys.

one positive to MLF format is that the pros don't have to deal with is spectator boats affecting the outcome.... another positive is the instant release eliminates the large numbers of dead fish that follows almost every tournament... I’m pretty sure the BPT guys still have a lot of spectator boat traffic. I see them holding fish and talking to the crowds on a lot of catches. The MLF guys, not so much.

Happened quite a few times this week in BPT. Forget who it was, but one guy caught one, showed it to a boat off camera, and said, “he’s my good luck charm. Been following me around this week.” Part of it is, since the camera guy is in the boat, they’re able to focus on the angler and they’re not showing much in the background. It’s a tighter shot than showing it from another boat, like in BASS does, because they’re filming more guys and don’t have a camera in every boat. But MLF, they’re on lakes in the middle of nowhere and it’s unannounced, so much less boat traffic.

I think that says a lot about the anti-MLF guys. There is a good reason for that. They (BASS) aren’t the bad guys nor the ones trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. With BASS you get what you see, it’s always been that way and for 50 years they’ve thrived and been the leader in the industry. Then come along some greed filled people portraying themselves as leaders and proclaim they are out to make things better for the anglers and growing the sport, when none of that is really the truth... they have from the onset been out there to try and bring BASS down by dividing the industry. When things didn’t go their way with BASS they turned their focus on FLW and time will show, ruined that viable league. The reason you see so many anti-MLF people is because most people with an honest conscience recognize shysters with ulterior motives that use unethical behavior and tactics to try manipulate people and they don’t want to support or have anything to do with them outside of being witness to their slow motion train wreck which ultimately leads to their demise. There will always be a small fraction of people who have a weak or broken moral compass that will support them and defend their wrong doings, but they will remain in the minority along with MLF.

another positive is that MLF and BPT are held during the week which greatly reduces the amount of spectator/hole jumper boats out there...
