September 2018. If it was really something, it would be news now.

I saw that earlier, they're pretty much ruling out the random option. Very interesting.

I’m thinking maybe there will be a grant of some kind to study this?
And yes if it’s is real it would be beneficial to know, but if there is enough credible evidence it seems Elon musk or somebody like him would fund it-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

From the article:
"Unusual and "mysterious radio bursts" have been detected 3 billion light years away from Earth, thanks to an artificial intelligence program at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI)."
Interesting because they say that radio waves in the electromagnetic spectrum travel close to the speed of light. So a radio wave sent by a star 1 light year away would take 1 year approximately to reach the Earth. This implies that Radio Waves they are picking up now from somewhere 3 billion light years away originated 3 billion years ago. Odds are that their batteries are dead by now.
I don't know how they figured the signals originated from 3 billion light years away?

Wouldn't matter if they were intelligent life or not at that distance. We'd never get to meet them.

I don't know how they figured the signals originated from 3 billion light years away? The original Cornell discovery team used an array of terrestrial and space based radio telescopes to identify the source dwarf galaxy, which is 3 billion light years away. If you really want to dive into it, here is a link to the team’s 2017 published report in The Astrophysical Journal Letters. Blue Moon
