Anyone sad they went with 93SV instead of the 1242? (9" vs 12") Such a big difference in price, is it worth the extra to go bigger?

Bigger is better. Bigger is a lot more $$$. It depends on whether you can (and are willing) to pony up the money.
I have a 93SV+ and it works great. Many folks who had 9's and went to 12's say there is no comparison to the visible detail and clarity.
I would like to have a 12, but doubt that I will ever do that now that I am already into this one.

I went from a 93 to a 122 ultra. The screen size is the obvious upgrade I was going for but I was really more pleased with the resolution, brightness, reduced lag and the ability to scan out to 140 foot. (in that order) .

This little dial/button is much faster in making your simple adjustments in Gain, Foward range and Depth Range. This is the GPSMAPS unit 1022, 1222, 1042xsv, 1242xsv. Truly the only three adjustments you are making with Livescope are in your Gain, Forward Range, and Depth Range. The Non-Touch GPSMAP units allow for fast/easy adjustment on the fly with the dial/button. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/02/full-46975-39216-1garmin_010_01741_00_63442_1.jpg)

I can say my 93 sv is no match in clarity / resolution to my son's 10 version. Wish I would have saved up for the cost difference. I am curious on the new Echomap Ultra 102SV. It has 1280 x 800 pixels for better resolution. Anyone have experience with this unit?

I bought the 93sv + to save money. It worked but it just wasn't as good as the larger units. After a few months I bought a 12" 126 Ultra and am delighted with the difference between the two units. But not the difference in price. Friend of mine said he would never have consider buying the livescope system after fishing with my 93+ sv display unit is now considering it after fishing with the 12" Ultra unit.
So yes I am sad I first bought the 93sv + display unit. I wasted money buying it. I have now moved the smaller unit to my console but I mainly use my HB from the console and really did not need the 93 + unit there.

i have looked into them a little, what i have been told is the 9" is good, but does not have the resolution or the processor that the 10" has, the 10" and 12" are basically the same but just size difference of 2" and $800. i was recommended to go with the 10" and buy more fishing goodies with the money saved, but i think i would like the 12" too. does anyone run 2 finders at once? run one with a live scope then run another with side image? thanks

I went with the 9" as my first unit back in August. It has been just fine for me. I am sure at some time in the future I may buy the larger screen, but, in my opinion, the 9" is just fine. Whichever screen size you go with...it is just AMAZING!

9" is ok, but obviously bigger is better if you're willing to fork over the cash. It's crazy how much of a premium fishfinder manufacturers charge for a larger screen.

What is the best bang for the buck in the 12" unit?

If all you are wanting is Livescope only then GPSMAP 1222 is all you need. If you are wanting SideVu/ClearVu then go with echoMap 126sv Ultra w/GT54 UHD TM Transducer.

David, what is the price difference between the two? I run Lowrance for the down and side and am happy with it. Is the Garmin any better for those things than the lowrance?
