As I age, my feet seem to get cold more than anything on me. I have some great insulated Muck boots for hunting and when it gets real cold but I hate to wear them on my boat because I am constantly catching the sole on the carpet and feel like one of these times they are going to send me straight in the water. I would prefer to wear tennis shoes when fishing but they let my feet get cold even when wearing a heavy insulated sock.

So my question is - what socks, liner or whatever can I buy to keep me feet from getting cold when I wear tennis shoes?

Have a few buddies that use these with tennis shoes while kayaking.

Bread sacks

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Ditch the tennis shoes and get some shoes with Gortex.

We are in Texas....quit being such a wuss. Deal with an occasional day were you may get cold feet like a man.

I tend to agree here. If it's a real issue get some smart wool socks. Double them up if you have to. When I lived in Wisconsin it was a real issue up there. Deer hunting from a stand in November is the real deal when it's 14 degrees and a brisk north wind. I had to buy headed insoles for my boots. They work, but overkill for down here.

You're right! Next time my feet get cold while on the boat I'm gonna slam my junk in the rod locker so I will instantly forget about my cold feet. Thanks for your candid and concise response.

got some toe warmers....they work great for me...I've actually worn crocs when duck hunting out of my boat when temps were in the teens are I had toe warmers on bottom of my wool socks...
they work well under gloves too...I wear seal skinz glove with a toe warmer in the palm and back of the hand (toe warmers stuck to the glove not your hand)...

Everything with Gortex (or Thinsulate) insulation seem to be in a boot with an aggressive sole which tends to make me trip. I would love to find a mid-ankle slip on with 4000 grams of Thinsulate that would also be waterproof that only has a deck sole to it.

don't tie your shoes so tight. I read once that that's a trick they teach all special ops guys so that more blood can get to their feet and keep them warm.

NRS HydroSkin wetsocks with your tennis shoes. Or NRS HydroSkin wetsocks inside NRS Paddle Wetshoes, I wore that combo when kayaking last Saturday on a 25-degree morning.
