Seen this at Bucees 2x, both times filler in a rod holder and guys inside getting stuff, damn near a hazmat situation both times. And both times someone else saw and hit the pump cutoffs leaving a lot of people confused.

Was it Big O? I'm betting it was No...wasn't Big O. But you can bet your a$$ you KNOW who she's gonna blame for it! (My theory still stands Big O is a gal.) I agree! A man would've given up by now, or halfway listened to some of the 1000+ posts of reason.

And both times someone else saw and hit the pump cutoffs leaving a lot of people confused. How in the heck does someone mistake a rod holder for a fuel fill? If they're that stupid they don't need a boat.

Makes me glad my fuel tanks say “gas” on them and my rod holders are straps.

Ok, I will sell myself out! when I first had my boat out I ran the “gas gauge” down to
Empty and flipped the “gauge” switch to the other tank.
Suddenly the motor wouldn’t start......”something is broken”
I trolled for an hour to my trailer, loaded up and headed to
Rockwall Marine (old site not new one).
A couple of days later. Motor works fine.....you know you have to
switch Gas tanks with the manual switch on the stern, right? (96 Pantera)

There are all kinds of new fisherman out there that do not know and I don't understand why they even want a boat. I heard this story from the ones that helped pull the boat from the water with the winch on the front of his truck. This guy backs down the boat ramp which was a major chore for him. It caught the other fisherman's attention standing in the parking lot. He finely gets the trailer wheels in the water and drops the Jack/wheel. This guy also has a new pick up with air suspension; and lowers the back of the truck until it popped off the ball hitch. The boat on the trailers rolls into the water with such force bringing water over the back and of course he did not put the plug in and the boat sinks.
They all rush down the ramp to see if they can help. This guy just sad that it was so tightly strapped to the trailer that he though it was suppose to stay attached to the boat. Mind you this was a NEW 22 ft.. Triton with a 300 on it. It took two 4 wheal drives strapped together to pull it out of the water. Nothing sticking up put the Tongue of the trailer to hook the winch cable to. New boat owners should make a few trips with someone that is in the know of how to unload and load a boat as well as the operation; before they kill someone besides themselves. I call bs on this story nobody can be that ignorant.

A boat dealership shouldn’t have to be responsible for a new owner. With that logic a car dealership would be where we go for drivers ed. The fact that ADULTS can’t figure out how to do a simple task is really sad. I’ve seen more men in there 40s-50s struggle to launch then any age group and they hate to be helped when struggling lol.

Was on a week long houseboat trip on Dale Hollow years ago using my Tidecraft bass boat as a dinghy. Went to the nearest marina early AM with a full load of hungry people. When we got to the dock everyone headed into the marina and we asked the attendant to fill it up. I forgot that my boat did not have the built in tank option. What it did have though was the gas tank screw on cap in case someone did order the built in tank. The screw cap was glued and I thought it was impossible to remove. When we came out of the marina about 15 minutes later I saw a pair of vice grips sitting on the dock with the gas spout crammed into the side of the boat. The bottom of the boat was full of gas and about ready to sink. Meanwhile the two orange removable tanks were floating almost empty inside the back compartment.
Nobody got hurt and about 2 hours later we finally were able to drive back to the houseboat. The marina took care of getting the gas out - was not a pretty site.
