Google had a clever Super Bowl commercial that was intended to put a different spin on the privacy battle. If you fell for it, then consider this is actually what is going on today, and what the future holds…

"Google - Tell Me About Grandpa."

Biometrics and other forms of digital tracking reveal your Grandpa was conservative with better than average cognitive skills but lacked intellectual curiosity. He was socially intolerant and lacked environmental awareness.

During his adult life the adoption of web tracking metrics limited his career. He was often rejected for positions and promotions he was qualified for because his Google HR profile showed he was not a culture match with most successful companies during his prime years. I thought that was about the most downer of a commercial ever.

I was thinking along the same lines as I watched it. The wife was bawling. But I was just thinking how creepy it was.

Google is creepy. Targeted ads are creepy. My kitchen computer that everyone uses messes up Google's data because it has my profile.

Just my way to jack with the data...nothing anyone can do to keep yourself from being exploited by the Big Data economy.
