It’s now Friday morning and I’m chompin at the bit to get this thing started. Last night I dreamt of full cast nets and baits so big that would make most fisherman laugh in disbelief! The 4th world officially crossed over into reality this morning when my guide buddy Steve showed up at my office with a dozen incredibly fine 12-15” baits!!! Man it pays to have good fishing buddies!!! Now I won’t have to work as hard at locating and getting big baits tomorrow morning. I still like to have a variety of baits so I’m gonna go make a bait run Saturday morning any hoot but should only take me 1-2 throws...

We’re going to the place where the river bends among the red sand hills Big Poppa...where the Indians once ruled the land and where dreams of catching catfish as big as a 4yr old boy come true...
Badlands of South Dakota.? On the Sulphur River............. . . . . . . or Texoma........

Thank you Sir! I admit I tried one rib. I mean several. Just quality control on my part! Headed to the deep channel ledges at the far end of the 4th word! I know they are waiting there, deep, slab sided, and hungry!

I used to live in that 4th world many hours a day. Dad said, you've got fish swimming in your head. Hope your ears don't pop cause water and fish will pour out. That was actually close to paradise back then.

We took a serious whoopin today amigos! Totally smoked! 0 fish...we fished in 48, 42, 32, 23 ft. Marked some toads up in 22ft with the striper and hybrids but not a single takedown. The trip started off with terrible news. Found out my buddy Kevin passed away Saturday morning which really took the wind out of my sails before we ever got started. Had a hard time keeping it together in front of my son and my buddy Littlefeather last 2 days. Thankful I was able to visit with Kevin one last time Friday in the hospital...crazy thing is he was being released Saturday afternoon but I guess the good lord had other plans. Really heartbreaking loosing a friend so suddenly. He was a slam dunking son of a gun in our younger days and went on to play football for Iowa and the Seattle Seahawks. Crazy such a big personality and gifted athlete could die before he was 50. Sometimes the world doesn’t make much sense. Kevin was a great father, loving husband, and the type of guy that makes everyone think they are his good buddy. I will miss him dearly. My fishing partner Littlefeather left early and i can’t say I blame him. The fishing was terrible today and I was probably a miserable person to be around. On a good note, my son Jaxon was a trooper today and we’ve had a great time this evening exploring around the cabin. I’m gonna try and make a good time for my son in spite of the circumstances. We’re gonna give em hell at sunrise and see if we can get this thing turned around. Tonight I will roam the 4th world in search of my buddy Kevin so we can crack a cold one and catch a few toads one more time. RIP Kevin

Sorry to Hear about your Friend. Enjoy the Time with your Son.
We took a Skunk Sat Bankfishing - everybody I talked to at GVine - bank or boat - was skunking or just the Occassional Dink.

Well they say a bad day fishing beats a good day at work. I’m at work now and I agree! I know the pain in loss of a good friend. As you know I’m still sporting a huge hole after loosing Jerry. I understand the loss in Kevin. Terrible to loose a friend! I hope you guys find at least one good cat today! Good luck Bud! Enjoyed the trip and visit!

Woke up to 20 mph wind and 3-4 ft rollers...way to rough for my little guy so we decided to lick our wounds and head on home. Will regroup and get back after em soon!
