AMZN just turned in a good earnings report,why would you want to sell? Buy the FAANGs and hold them forever(Facebook,Apple,Amazon,Netflix,Google.) I realize the market is having a horrendous day thanks to the mess in China but that too shall pass. i am wary of selling thats why i asked i am up a couple of thousand today & that is a worthwhile figure to me

Amazon is expanding bigly. Remember when the race between them and Google was to get to 1K was going on? It was like Sophie's Choice. I think both parties and those that invested in them are happy.

I don't think you can go wrong holding Amazon. What if you sold Monday and it jumped up another 10 or 15% Tuesday - you would be kicking yourself. It will probably triple in value over the next 3 years.

I remember when Amazon was under $200 a share back in 2010 or 2011 I think. People ( myself included) thought that is nuts because they were not even turning a profit. It goes to show how when the right “ thing” gets going in upward momentum and keeps building on that business what can happen. There are other examples of 1,000 % winners in the last decade although few and far between.
