Yep. A good read. I quit reading King a couple of years later.

Read The Stand several times.
Always thought it curious how much it resembled Swan Song by Robert McCammon, which was written and released before The Stand.

The Stand is one of the few books I've read twice. I also loved The Andromeda Strain. Michael Crichton was a Medical Doctor, so he made that so damned convincing I had to check the cover when I was 50 pages in to make sure it was fiction.

I've read both. They do seem to follow the same track, but both are good reads. I don't like Stephen King now days, but some of his older books were great.
