I had read that the best place to start is the North side or the upper end. Is the upper end just the area opposite the dam? At Cypress would the upper end be where the lilly pads used to be? Thanks in advance.

Upper end is toward the backs of the creeks where fresh water comes I to the lake. Typically the spawn starts in the upper 1/3 to 1/2 of a lake first. The lower end is where the lake terminates in a natural or manned structure that allows the lake to full to the appropriate level (AKA Dam). roflmao thumb

The upper end is referred to as the North End of the lake. There are a few lakes that lay differently and do not run N. to S.. Cypress Springs is one of those lakes. It runs East and West. Go to the back of the deepest creeks that run North. Pick the ones first off of your Nav. Apps. Map that make a share turn. This helps hold in the Warmer Water when the wind blows out of the North. These type coves will be the best; because the warm water will be trapped. On your fishing day if the wind is out of the South East fish the North side of those Dog Leg Coves or Creeks. If the wind is out of the North move across to the South shoreline in those SAME coves.

Send me a PM and I will send you a marked Screenshot Map of the best ones to start in first. It is all about the Contours and depth of the creek on which ones that Spawning fish will show up in first.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.
