Looking at places on TPWD for fishing around Rocksprings and it looks like a lot of places around San Angelo.

OH Ivie

Nasworthy

Twin Buttes

OC Fisher....maybe

I am looking for input about these places. We fish for panfish, bass and are not opposed to catfishing.

We fish from a 14 ft boat and have Lowrance Hook5 electronics that I am still learning to use.

I get up that direction regularly but only fished a couple of times. Twin butes is full or 75% full for the first time since the mid 80's. They released a lot of bass in the past 8 months. I fished it back in May and caught a lot of fish sticks! LOL. But it is very clear water and I saw some huge bass. The problem is that because it has been so low the bank is 50 feet into large brush, so getting to a decent area to fish is not always easy, but it is a great place to fish. I also have a friend there that fishes Ivey all the time. Says the bass are great there along with Crappie. I have not fished it yet but plan to this year when I go back. I know a few Game Wardens there and they say that fishing is good at Nasworthy also, just do not know where. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Chris.

Gonna take a couple of trips up that way to see what I can do....have not decided which one to try yet.

I will report when I get up there and fish some.

Well, we ran around Nasworthy a bit Sunday and today.

Caught 4 hybrid bass and one LMB using minnows near the dam. Found some of the structures that TPWD put out, but did not get any fish of those directly. Was hoping to find some Crappie....probably my lack of skill that we did not. In any case here are cpl of pics of our catch.

You also have Oak Creek and Spence that are in the vicinity. All the lakes you mentioned have fish. If you are looking for bigger fish Ivie, Spence and Oak Creek are the lakes you want to hit.

Whether catching or not, a day on the water is a good thing.

.Do tell....I will buy the gas and bait if you want to go.

Twin Buttes South Pool has been turning out Crappie from what the bait shop proprietor said.

They've been slaying them in the North Pool as well.

We loved Spring Creek Marina RV Park on Nasworthy a couple of years ago. Stayed a few days in the Motorhome and fished out of the Kayak. Would like to get back to that area this summer with the bass boat.

Hope to get up to the area again this weekend.

Would like to hit Twin Buttes. Any spots to hit?

18mph SW winds Saturday so you'll probably have the whole lake to yourself. About the only place you'll find a protected area is up the middle concho river.
