Tell me about your home audio sound system.
Surround sound?
How many speakers?
Manufacturer?
What does it control/can it control?

Thanks in advance. Iโ€™m in the market.

I have an older yamaha 5.1 system with 125w per channel.

2 12" studio monitors front, 2 sony bookshelf 8" rear and no center right now.

don't use it since my hearing aids are bluetooth to the tv.

best quality receiver imo.

SONOS is what I have.

You can also stream music to each speaker in your house with SONOS. So if you could play 10 different songs on 10 different speaker if you choose.

The surround sound is outstanding, In my living room I have the Sonos Bar, Sonos Bass, and 2 Sonos Play3.

I have same setup in my Media room

Then I have Play1 and Play 5 scattered over the house, they have a built in computer blue chip so you only need a power source, no wires to run.

Sonos is awesome, but you will pay for it.

What kind of music do you like?
Budget?
Is this more for home theater or for playing albums?
Does your better half have any say in this (will she have a fit if the speakers are over 5ft tall?)

This is what my wife likes (you need a Firecube for both speakers)
It does sound good and the speakers are quality, but you have to also have the Firecube for the two speaker set up

I have a Sony ES DTS receiver. Front speakers are Dynaudio left and right speakers. They have a 6-1/2โ€ midrange and a 1โ€ silk dome tweeter. The center channel is a Dynaudio center. It has 4 6-1/2โ€ mids with one silk dome tweeter. The side speakers are pinnacle speakers, similar to the Dyns. The surrounds are Pinnacle speakers. They have a 4โ€ midrange and a 1โ€ beryllium tweeter. I am using an old Audio Control Theater-7 amp. It is 200 watts x 7 at 8-24ohms. The subwoofer system is Sunfire โ€œTru-Subโ€. It is a pair of isobaric loaded 10โ€ woofers in a 1cubic foot enclosure. It has a 2000 watt digital amp built in. Display is a Toshina Theaterwide LED with an upgraded screen from Stewart. Everything is setup using Video Essentials DVD and an Audio Control 3060 RTA.

It sounds good. My wife says itโ€™s too loud.

I think some good suggestion here as far as what some have that posted. Mine is pretty simple a Bose Cinemate for TV watching and when playing movies a Kenwood stereo and Infinity speakers. My boss on the other has just moved and put in a home theatre that spared no expense. A full Dolby Atmos system with the top of the line Denon receiver and 14 in ceiling Klipsch speakers and 2 subs, along with a 4k projector and I think the screen is +100โ€...crazy expensive but he makes bank.
