Thats a cool clip. I have found them so fresh the blood on the base and in the snow was still wet.

I have already found 14 sheds this year. They are dropping them early.

Always wondered how they dropped them.

I hopped the fence at the Fort Worth Nature Center many years ago and grabbed one off the ground. It was in the buffalo enclosure but there were no buff or people in sight.

I want to find an Axis shed. We have some big ones at lease but no one has ever found a shed. I think it is because we just don't go in to the cedar thickets where they hang out.

My BIL shot a deer a couple years back and when he shot it the deer had his antlers. By the time he tracked it and found it the deer had shed. Wouldn’t have believed it but he had pics to prove it. Not sure if that is common or not in late season.

That deer did not intentionally shed it's antlers. He was scratching an ear with his hoof, then shook his head which most animals do to try to get relief from an ear itch. The antlers were about ready to drop and that took them off. as well as spooked the heck out of him.

I have already found 14 sheds this year. They are dropping them early. Does that mean an early Spring?
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

In the late 70's I was out still hunting E. Texas the day after Christmas and jumped a buck and doe. They were pretty close and ran along a hillside, crossed a branch and came out on the overgrown tram road I was on and I shot the buck. Rack was way higher than his ears is all I can tell you. The 270 rolled him and went back into the branch and died. When I came up on him there were no antlers. Just pink spots on his head. I never found either antler and I looked for over an hour. He had only gone 30 yards before dying.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
