I ran Skeeters from the early 80's through about 1995. Think I bought either 14 or 15 new ones through their state team program, then took a break from fishing for a few years. I started back fishing in 1999 and went with a Basscat for a couple of years, then switched over to Ranger, mainly because I was fishing some FLW events at the time. I quit tournament fishing in 2012 so I don't have any incentive now to pick a particular brand. I'm currently on my fourth Ranger and about to get my fifth. So my vote is currently Ranger.

Basscat with Phoenix in 2nd. Had a skeeter fx, traded for the lynx and don't plan on ever changing. The quality and customer service of basscat is unlike anything I have ever dealt with. I am for sure a basscat fan for life.

Ran a Champion 203 for 15 years, now have a 2017 FX21, the FX21 is superior to my old Champion in every way. Learn how to drive the boat and who ever is telling you ^^^^^ that the Skeeter is a wet riding boat obviously has an agenda!

Between a Ranger ,Triton. Phoenix , Skeeter are BASSCaT? Ready go All good boats. Triton will be gone soon. I would have to give my vote to Phoenix. Early on they were a deal. Now sitting on the showroom floor side by side with a loaded Skeeter, the Phoenix is about $1,500 more if you want a Yam on the Phoenix. Of course since Yam owns Skeeter that all you can get on the bug boat.

Chevy, Ford, Dodge. In that order... j/k Pick the one you like the looks of best because they are all about equal. 99% of it is the driver. Some are faster then others, some fish better then others. Pick your poison. They all require maintenance.

I've only ridden in Ranger,Skeeter,Triton(all w/min 200hp ) and would choose in that order, however doubt I would ever buy new...too many low hours, well maintained boats out there,I would also add some still in warranty.

OK so question, I am fairly new to bass boats so don't roast me too badly, I previously owned a G3 that was a utility boat sportsman 17, I recently upgraded to a 19 foot G3 that is a huge change, dual poles 150 Yami, love it but aluminum hill is rough riding and presents its own challenges, anyhow this will be paid off this year and I am seriously contemplating a fiberglass boat, smoother ride, larger deck, better storage, yada yada so I am curious Are the opinion here based primarily on ride?
