It’s Texas bro. If you don’t then you miss 70% of the year.

I’ll have to agree with this comment, totally depends on the lake.

Yeah quite a bit. I caught my personal best on a day that it was blowing 20-30 out of the north on Toledo Bend. Just have to be smart about it.

up to 25 of so, just be smart about it. I've been in some nasty stuff over the years and learned when not to take a chance. Been more than once that I wasn't sure if I would make it back.

I was on Ray Hubbard with a friend in his 17' Stratos 273 Vindy on a very windy day. 15+ sustained and 25+ gusts. We couldn't make it back to the ramp we launched at but were lucky enough to make it to another ramp. I had to call my wife to come and drive my buddy to the original ramp to get the truck and trailer so we could get off the water. I've been on the water in similar conditions in my 21' ZX250 and it was a bit of a rough ride but the Bug handled it. Those 4 extra feet and 700 pounds make a huge difference.

Yep...just pick a lake that works for the wind direction, or one that has coves, where you can hide from the wind. I have done very well fishing in 20 mph +

I go when I have the time. Can't control the weather.

Mostly no I will not fish in wide above 15mph since my tin rig gets pushed heavily in those winds.

This is a true statement about large sections of the state. For the next two + months I just anticipate dealing with the wind and by mid-July I will be hoping for any breeze at all. 18mph is not going to keep me home. Sustained at 25+ with gust in the 30s, that’s just no fun and almost impossible to do anything but fish vertically. Otherwise the only thing keeping me off the water is thunderstorms or the strong possibility of thunderstorms.

As a qualifier I fish from a deep v multi species boat so it has to be pretty rough before I start to worry about the boats capabilities. But if I was fishing from an 18’ or less shallow bass hull, either fiberglass or aluminum I am sure my enthusiasm would be tempered by my desire to not become a statistic. At the end of the day every individual boater needs to be honest about their level of seamanship and the capability of the boat that they are in. If it feels stupid and risky then it usually is.

I also have a Bass Tracker. Wind pushes me around pretty bad. That said...I really want to go fishing.

Depends on the lake. My boat drives in it fine and if I know I can find enough protected areas to get out of it then I will go if not it is uncomfortable to fish in and I fish to relax. That's part of the reason that I like to fish at night. besides being cooler and less traffic, the wind usually dies down and it is relaxing.
