Anyone have any experience with these? Have an opportunity to get a few and don’t want to waste my money. Wondering what they might be comparable to? Revo S? Citica? Just looking for opinions. Also will add, these are 2018-2019 models

They are ok if you are getting a “deal” on them, but much better rods out there for their retail price point

The reels are the deal. Super smooth
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

if they are cheap enuff they are decent but I would question their durability and means of parts and service.

Several high level pros do pretty well with them.

I had very good luck with them. Use carbonlites now. No problem with parts, bass pro reel repair has parts for all of them.

Like BMCD I have recently bought 4 (going back to 3 years) the platinum reels in 8:3 to 1 and I think they are great. Only had to buy one at full price. My reel cleaner, RT (at Tackle Right Reel Repair at Lake Fork), gives then a thumbs up. Prior to these reels for the 25 years I only fished with Shimano's.

They are ok if you are getting a “deal” on them, but much better rods out there for their retail price point THIS ^^^^^^^ In the fishing world ... like everything else in life ... you get what you pay for. I've had several BPS reels over the years and they were not "great". Several high level pros do pretty well with them. BUT ... are they fishing with the same reel that you buy across the counter? Or are they "tuned" and hand-picked? A new one every tournament? Not may professional athletes use over-the-counter stuff that hasn't been modified or otherwise changed to suit their personal tastes. Not sure if fishing is that way but I wouldn't be surprised. I know many years ago Bill Dance (told me himself) had to pick through about a dozen Zebco reels to find one that suited him. The rest were given to friends and kids.

Just a personal opinion, but not a big fan of BPS rods and reels. They are okay, but not great.

I’ve only ever had 2 reels actually die on me, one Johnny Morris signature from like 2007(user failure I think) and a curado 70(bearing trashed). They’re probably like anything these days, depends if the person making it that day gave a flying woop or not.

I have had real good luck with my Johnny Morris reels and rods. The first generation Carbonlite reels gave me trouble, but the signature and platinum, I have been very happy with.

Agree^^^ I sold them for 10 years at BPS gvine when a friend of mine Edwin Evers was getting started. the gvine store(not bps full ride) was one of his first big sponsors. I know exactly how many reels he would go through in a season. Some people never realize this is a sales oriented business.
