Guess they don't care about the loyal boat owners that purchased their boats back before they had to pay someone to buy them. Ranger does the same thing and those that still run the real ranger are left out as well. Went to the Houston boat show last weekend and looking at the Rangers and Skeeters they all had signs on them stating low monthly payments of 579.00 for 15 years. I cant imagine paying on a boat for 15 years. That's over 100,000.00 dollars you will pay. But wait, they will give you $5,000.00 if you win a tournament in it...….yea, that makes it better for me. Until people quit paying those prices, they will keep going up. If you trade it in every couple of years, it doesn’t cost as much as it seems. You basically pay about $7500 a year in depreciation. Win a couple tourneys a year and the boat is pretty much free. Yeah right. Sadly, this is exactly how people justify it. It's easy to get caught up in it and make the impulse purchase.

Sad day with what all Skeeter is doing. I keep hearing this. What all is Skeeter doing besides changing a few of their pro staff and this contingency program?

I wonder if the resale/trade in value of 2 year old will lower due to the new contingency rules. And if that will lower the number of new boats sold. I’d expect some effect but maybe not enough to matter to Skeeter.

There up for sale due to declining sales They may be up for sale, no idea about that, but I don't buy the declining sales. Every other bass boat you see in Texas is a Skeeter. Best economy we have seen maybe ever. Every business in America is for sale......for the right price. I suspect they are just shifting their philosophy on marketing. There are other people besides professional fishermen that can drive boat sales now. If you don't believe that go see when the upcoming fun and sun in house show is the busiest. Skeeter seems to be pretty aggressive with that "alternative " audience. As for the contingency money, basically all manufacturers besides Phoenix are limiting it to newer boats now.

So, let me get this right....
You buy a used boat, then want Skeeter to pay you money to fish from it?
All Skeeter is doing is incentivizing their new models. No conspiracy here. They aren’t into building boats as a nonprofit.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Cutting pros and now no real money for older boats . Wondering if all is good with Skeeter ? What pros did they cut? Mark Davis Alton Jones Alton Jones jr Kelley Jordan so far. I would guess that has more to do with not being a sponsor of the BPT.

I would guess that has more to do with not being a sponsor of the BPT. I have respect for all 4 of those anglers, but I wouldn't say that's a big loss for Skeeter by no means.
