Located near I-45 and HWY 287. Thinking about trying this lake out. I know it is small but reports say it holds crappie and catfish. I am mainly interested in trying it when the wind and waves on Richland Chambers get to be too much for my aluminum Tracker.
Anyone have experience here?
Thanks!

This lake has been on my radar for same reasons as yours. The alum Lowe I run doesn't like wind much either more so I don't like fighting it.

Thanks for the video! the lake isn't very deep even by the dam. I imagine i could cover it with side imaging in a few hours! I'll report back when i make it out there.

I went New Year’s Day and while we marked a ton of bait and fish we struck out on crappie only catching a few, but the ones we caught were giants.
A front had blown in as we got to the ramp. I went because I got a report of 4 man limits being caught out there the week before and the day before but either I just can’t catch them or I was sent on a scouting trip LoL I’m pretty good at catching crappie so....... LoL Cool little lake . 18-20 ft at the dam. Two points I scanned had a tire graveyard that looked good. The majority of bait and fish were found were out in front of the fishing pier by the ramp .

Hmmm, SO you got sent on a fishing expedition?

Great little lake.Tons of brush out in front of the dam and they have wooden post in that area that hold big fish and the railroad tressel on the other end of the lake is good too.I’ve caught fish over 2 pounds out of the lake and have seen several close to 3 caught

Ramp is a nice ramp with a loading dock and I’ve seen the lake get low but no problems running it.No standing timber so stumps aren’t a problem and the water depth around the railroad tressel is about 15 feet. The rocks near that tressel are killer in the spring for crappie. The tressel is as far as you can go in a boat but bank fishermen do well in the spring fishing the cattails between the tressel and Hwy 287.
