This woman fighting CPS for custody of her kids for disciplining her 7 yr old son after he threatened school teachers. There’s something in the video that I wonder how many will pick up on. Will wait for your thoughts.


Her side of the story

Did she work at the school? Her and other lady in video both had ID tags of some kind.

Good for Mom for stepping up. The schools cannot do anything to him unfortunately. More parents need to step up. Reporter pointed out that she called her son the "N" word. She countered by that is how I speak. the reporter seemed to deflect the emphasis of the belting to the verbal outburst.

No doubt she loves her kids and does not want this little boy to disrespect his teacher(s). Hope she wins her case.

When you go to school for anything nowadays, you have to go to the office and sign in and get a badge/tag and wear it while on the school campus.

Work's Pc won't let me watch the video. She and NO one should be using the N-word IMO. Spanking if fine as long as it doesn't go past a certain limit. But who know's exactly what that limit is. My Mom sure didn't know at times.

Glad to see her take responsibility and discipline her son for his actions but she went over the top by the use of the 'N' word and the excessive swats with the belt (no less at school and in front of others).

A lot of parents would have blamed the school/teacher for making their child say such atrocious things and would be talking to the lawyer who they have on speed dial. Granted the lawyer they call usually handles cases involving drug, prostitution, dwi and child support cases but they should be able to refer them to the right legal counsel.

I don’t see anything wrong . Sure it looks ugly but she seemed to have the best of intentions . Some kids you can give the stink eye too and they straighten up . Some kids you can talk to and they straighten up. Some kids you can ground and they straighten up . Some kids are so good you don’t have to do anything they cry when they get a b on there grades . And then there are the children that just need a good butt whoopin and they straighten up. And a single mother of 4 and she’s tryin to raise a young man that she obviously wants to grow up to be something .

Gotta do what you gotta do . Hope that lady gets her kids back and they turn out to be solid , productive members of there community.

Spanking him on the a** is one thing. Hitting the kid all over with a belt is child abuse.

Bingo. She said, “That’s how I speak. That’s how WE speak.” THE double standard being brought to the forefront. IF she were white, this would be national news with lawsuits and riots flying. Where’s the outrage over this word from the one’s that use it as an opportunity to promote racism?

The reporter also said, “she got another call from the school about her son’s behavior.” This kid is destined for trouble if mom doesn’t step up.

I comment the mom for her intentions and empathize with her single-mom situation (though she is responsible for that- not her child), but her actions could have and should have been very different. Take the boy home and handle privately. Spanking is for the butt, not the body. Verbal abuse is not appropriate.

looked like when my dad came home from work, daily, drunk at the petroleum club then home to work out his frustrations on me (oldest, so I had always done something to deserve it according to him).

I sympathize with the kid, he probably wants attention at that age and is not getting much if any. using the n word was above and beyond wrong, so was the all over the body belt treatment.
as for felony abuse, the belt was over the top but at the same time she did no damage, maybe a couple of welts. taking the kids was also something I am not in favor of, cps does not have a very good rep in Tx.

I know a lot of ya remember the school paddle, our woodshop teacher in high school made them for any teacher that asked.

Yes sir... and our Ag teacher Del Chase took pride in using his his product.. Seems like it was a 6' 2X6, planed down to about 1" or so. 1" holes, routed edges, and I think he had a name burned in the handle.

Yep, I got the paddle 1 week before graduating HS because I mooned the choir. I deserved it.

It was worth it.

Should be awarded Mom of the Year. She gives a damn. That young man will learn what right and wrong and discipline mean. Mom with a belt...he's lucky. My mom would grab whatever was nearest. I hated Hot Wheel track.

I got tore up several times as a youngster up until my mid teens by my GF who raised me. He was tuff and old school. I'm not offended by the video in the least, not the corporal punishment nor the speech.

I think CPS is wrong but this is the mamby pamby PC world we live in. There's a reason there is no respect for authority in this country and I think a big part is parents won't or are scared to go a bit psycho on their kids once in a while. Fear is an awesome motivator. All this being said there needs to be love shown and praise given to said children. No constant air of fear. Balance.
