This question is just incidental to fly tying. It could be posted in fly fishing or pretty much any other forum.
It has to do with the color chartreuse.
Most times the color is more greenish lets call it limes.
Occasionally its more yellowish, lets call it lemons.
I've got a bunch of the lime colored chartreuse and no lemons.
On an old internet board for the Texas coast they used to refer to the green chartreuse as "limetreuse".
Anyone have any input on this subject?

That's it. I asked an Orvis guy about it once and he just went and got some of the green material to show me.
I was pretty sure that there was a yellowish version too.
I would like to get some yellowish color for some clousers.
I ordered some online that looked yellow, but when I got it, it was greenish.

with natural materials like that sometimes it varies from batch to batch, so if you're particular about it you may be best served by buying in person. With synthetics it should always be the same, but yeah the exact shade is going to vary from material to material, and color doesn't always translate well to pictures, so the same suggestion applies.
With all of that said, I would call the rightmost fly chartreuse and the leftmost one just ... green, or maybe lime?

I have seen multiple fly tying materials companies that will have two colors: yellow chartreuse and green chartreuse. When I think of chartreuse I tend to think of the yellow version, which is the version I tie with the most.
