I fish alone most of the time, son is at that age where he has his own job or friends to hang out with. He goes about once a month. Daughter only wants to go crappie or perch fishing and gets bored fast if they aren't biting.
I really enjoy fishing alone, I push myself to try new techniques, play with my graphs and explore new areas all on my time. I'm usually pretty quick at the ramp even by myself, I know exactly where the trailer needs to be to load and unload.

The only thing I enjoy more than being on the water by myself is being in the woods by myself. It is really hard to fish and hunt with someone that doesn't have the same rhythm of things. Know when to talk when to move when to help when to get out of the way etc.

A lot !! I got tired of people always asking -- when you going to take me fishing ?? Then when I would get a trip planed they either couldn't go or would back out at the last minute or could not leave till lunch or half way to the lake ( I have to be home by 5)  Gotten to the point I would rather fish alone.. Leave when I want, change spots when I want, eat when I want go home when I want. That and my dog likes EVERYTHING I do.. And as long as there is room at the courtesy dock...I can load or unload faster than a lot of two some's.. I think most of us who have been fishing for years have experienced all of this from time to time. Fishing is the one hobby that I don't mind doing alone. I knew a guy years ago who seemed to think I was bothering him by asking him to go fishing so much. He even told another friend of mine about it. I solved that dilemma for him. It's been over 20 years since I invited him. Problem solved!

I do and I enjoy it. No nagging or complaining. No having to turn around and get someone unsnagged. It's like night fishing, having the entire lake to yourself. No better way to fish. +1 Not having to backtrack to water you already covered to get a lure unhung is a bonus.

Fishing alone is peaceful. I go when I want, stay as long or as short as I like and fish wear I like. I put in a little later and leave a little sooner not to be that guy at the ramp..lol

I am in the position where my son is grown and has no interest, and neither does the wife.
Being new to Texas I have no friends here yet, and am going to be fishing alone for the immediate (and maybe longterm) future.
Just wondering how many of you folks regularly fish by yourself? Always have. It's better, most of the time, if someone can join but if not then the bass waits for no man.

You know that feeling you get when you pull up to your first spot and the person in the back of the boat...your wife, girlfriend, co-worker, whoever...asks you "how long do you plan to stay today"? You never get that when you're by yourself.

Put me in the solo column also. I enjoy the solitude & company. lol. Just have to be more aware of safety items, ie, pfd on @ all times, watching for rogue waves, skiers/wakeboarders, etc.

Same for me--especially since I'm getting older (turn 80 this year). I fell in (luckily not out of) my boat last week trying to take a p*** while standing on the bow. Didn't do any damage other than to my ego, but immediately went home and found a solution on Amazon: TravelJohn-Disposable Urinal. I stand on the back and lean against the motor for support. That works well.

I enjoy fishing by myself most of the time when I want to try a new bait or technique. I don't feel pressured to take somebody out and catch fish. I can just go, enjoy the water and casting a line. No pressure at all when you fish alone.

I fish by myself at least 50% of the time and enjoy it. Tend to be more aware of surroundings, check the weather & winds, and always wear a PFD. Something is going to go wrong, so be prepared.

I’d rather fish by myself, I find it therapeutic sometimes. What’s bad is when multiple good fish are caught and there isn’t anyone else to attest to it.

My kids friends used to have no issue breaking off and retying on another one of my lures as fast as possible. $100 loss days get really old.
