.... due to their back.
Father Time is catching up to me. At 53, my back is starting to give me fits. Had to fly to Phoenix overnight and almost had to call a wheelchair to get me off the plane, I couldn’t stand up and not very straight.
There was a time I worked 6 days a week doing landscaping chores with thousands of hours on a zero turn, could ride motorcross still in my 40s and recently have been crawling all over and under my SuperDuty rebuilding it.
I just had some X Rays done before this latest episode and am waiting to see a neurologist but I’m a bit worried.
Last season, I had just started back into tournament fishing with a very good friend and my attitude now that I’m older really allowed me to enjoy the time spent with him and being out on the water. This year he’s already making plans and I’m afraid I can’t take any more punishing boat rides and may have to shut that party down.
Pretty scary when getting out of bed in the AM is a challenge.

Depending what the MRI shows, sometimes a steroid shot in the back works wonders

Hang in there. Give the back a rest and try again. Fun fishing can be scouting lakes for next season.

Bank fishing the right time of year can keep you out there
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

A pontoon might be a way to get on the water in comfort.

I pray the Doc can get you back in action. The pontoon is a good suggestion.

I was having back trouble in my 40's, and fishing from a float tube worked wonders. Might want to let the water warm a bit, though.

A pontoon is nice and generally slower, I went to a pontoon about ten years ago and once you adjust to the slower pace it was really nice and more comfortable for me- But at around 55 is when it got more difficult for me to load and unload, and crawl up and down the trailer to the boat- I’m 60 now, and heck I was skydiving until I was 45, aging in someways is not fun- I know it’s not for everyone especially after having a boat, but as said earlier I sometimes just bankfish and it gets me by the water and even sometimes catch a fish or two-

Yup, getting old ain’t for sissies. Body just generally begins to show the effects of years of abuse. Must adjust activity accordingly. I bank fish at my local community ponds, easy walking, very close by and there are fish in them. Even that causes my back to tighten up after an hour or so.

I had a spinal fusion at 52. Was pretty much crippled for 3 months before the surgery. I have up my Harley and motor cross and even my bass boat. Switched to a bay boat and life is grand.

This is just me talking but before you let them cut on you I would try a chiropractor. This could be something very simple to fix as it seems you have been doing some not normal for you work on your truck. I have one that I trust, he will send a person to the ER or a Neurologist/Back Surgeon in a heartbeat if he sees something he can't help. Which ever you choose I hope you get well soon.

A chiropractor helped my wife’s back. I agree to give that a shot first-

Turned 80 today and still plan on fishing. In fact been working on boat today. Guess I have been lucky. Everything is stiff (well not everything) and hurts until it gets warmed up and climbing in and out of the boat, walking up the steep boat ramp is slower for sure, but then I have nothing to hurry up to get to. Well, I think I will go shower and see what I get for my birthday.
