I currently need a new motor. I currently have a 2003 yamaha ox66 250. If I bought a SHO or an optimax. What all would I need to get it operational (Controls, steering, etc) and how much would you estimate it would cost besides the cost of the motor itself?

Best bet is to check with a few dealers and tell them what your doing. Been out of the business now for around 5 years, but Yamaha controls/cables use to run around $800.00

the sho would plug in to your existing rigging would be much cheaper to do that than change out controls an cables an some gauges.

If you stick with Yamaha it will cost less to swap out motors

The price difference on a Mercury 4 stroke would more than pay for the controls
